"Fuel type: electric" is not enough to do anything with
The DVLA record will tell you a vehicle is electric. It will not tell you whether it has a 24 kWh battery or a 100 kWh one, what chemistry it uses, or what it can realistically accept from a charger, and those are the facts that determine how long it will occupy a bay, what a charging session will cost, and whether a proposed installation is adequate. Resolving battery data from the registration turns a category into a specification.
Plug-in hybrids distort EV fleet reporting
A fleet that reports "electrified vehicles" as one number is hiding the thing that matters. A plug-in hybrid used entirely on petrol and a full EV are very different from an emissions, cost and infrastructure standpoint, and telling them apart from a make and model alone is unreliable. Battery data resolved per vehicle makes the split accurate without asking anyone to self-declare.
Installation surveys and infrastructure planning
Whether a site needs 7 kW posts or something considerably larger depends on what will actually be plugged into them and for how long. Where a fleet's registrations are already known, resolving the battery specification across the whole list turns an infrastructure conversation from an estimate into an arithmetic problem.

EV & charging questions
- Do you return battery state of health?
- No. We return the manufacturer specification for the battery fitted to that vehicle: capacity, chemistry, range and charging characteristics. Degradation and state of health can only come from the vehicle itself, typically over its telematics.
- Are plug-in hybrids covered?
- Yes. PHEVs carry battery data as well, which is how you tell them apart from full EVs reliably.
- What if the vehicle is not electric?
- The battery block simply is not returned, and you are not charged: you are only charged on a lookup that returns something.
- Can we enrich an existing EV fleet list in one go?
- Yes. Bulk lookups take up to 50 registrations per call, with CSV output if that is easier than JSON.
