Credit expiry and low-balance warnings

Keep an eye on two things: how much credit you have, and when it expires.

Expiry

Pay-as-you-go credits are valid for 12 months from purchase. Your balance is always the total of your unexpired credit, so older credit is used within its validity window. Subscription top-ups refresh monthly while the subscription is active.

Low-balance and expiring-credit alerts

VehicleMatic can warn you before you run out:

• Credits low: you're notified when your balance falls below a threshold.
• Credits expiring: you're notified ahead of credit reaching its expiry date, so you can use or replace it.

These run automatically and can reach you by email, and, for the most urgent ones like a low balance, by SMS. Manage which alerts you receive, and on which channels, on the Notifications page (/app/{your-company}/notification-preferences).

In your integration

Your API responses always include your remaining credit_balance, and an insufficient balance returns a 402. Handle that gracefully and prompt a top-up. See Rate limits and reliable requests.
