Create your account and run your first lookup

Getting from sign-up to your first result takes just a few minutes.

1. Create your account

Register at vehiclematic.com with your email and a password. Your account belongs to a company — the organisation that holds your credit balance and to which you can invite teammates. You can create and switch between more than one company later.

2. Verify your email

Click the verification link we send you. Verification unlocks your welcome credits — until your email is verified, lookups are blocked at the API gateway.

3. Get your API key

A first API key is created for you automatically at sign-up. You can view it, create more, and scope keys to specific products on the API access page in the customer portal. See Creating and scoping API keys.

4. Make your first call

Send a request to any product's live endpoint with your key in the X-VEHICLEMATIC-KEY header:

You'll get back a normalized JSON response with the vehicle data and your remaining credit balance. Walk through the response in Making a lookup: request and response.
